FIBER NETWORK SOLUTIONS

Client: Town of Marshfield

Challenge: This project required the building of a fiber optic network, to connect town buildings back to the “head end” (typically the town hall). The most important goal was to build in as much redundancy at the head end as possible while staying in budget.

Solution: We the Cisco 3750-series switches at the head end and Cisco 2960 switches at the edge. The Cisco 3750-series switches incorporate Cisco StackWise technology allowing multiple switches to act as one, but be able to survive after loosing the master, or any member of the stack. Redundant fiber runs from each site went to the core in 2 different members to ensure the maximum uptime available.
